I’ve written previously about solitary themes in my work. Another theme is easier to illustrate than classify. I’ll call it looking with a narrow focus. Looking for the Light was my first body of work after art school. A series of fourteen paintings each with an abstract image at the centre of a keyhole shape.
In the years since then similar and related themes have occurred. Paths between trees, openings to the unknown, archways into the beyond.
I’m intrigued by what might be down a road not yet travelled and curious to know what’s round a corner or beyond what I can see at present.
